Terms of use
Last updated 31 October 2026
These terms apply to the Amin app for Android, the Amin web app and this website (together, "Amin"), made by Zaid Shaikh. By using Amin you agree to them. If you don't, please don't use Amin.
Using Amin
Amin is free for personal use. You may install it, use it and keep the data you create with it. You may not copy, resell or redistribute the app, take it apart to make a competing product, or use it to break the law.
Your data
What you enter belongs to you. Amin keeps it on your devices and, if you turn on sync, in your own Google Drive; the developer has no copy and cannot recover it for you. You are responsible for keeping your devices and your Google account secure, and for keeping backups. Amin helps with daily device backups, weekly copies in Drive, backup files and Excel export. How Amin handles data is described in the privacy policy.
Google Drive and other services
Sync and photo storage use your Google account and are also governed by Google's terms. Exchange rates and city names come from free third-party services that may be wrong, late or unavailable. Amin depends on them but does not control them.
Not financial advice
Amin is a record-keeping tool. Its totals, budgets, statistics, converted amounts and exchange rates are for your information only. They are not financial, tax or legal advice, and they may contain errors. Check anything important against your bank or an adviser.
Early access and updates
The Android app is in early access. Features may change, and the app may ask you to install a newer version before you can keep using it, so that your devices stay in step. Updating never touches your data.
No warranty
Amin is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and freedom from errors. It may sometimes be unavailable or lose data through faults, however unlikely; keep backups.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for loss of data, money or profit, arising from your use of Amin or from being unable to use it. Nothing here limits rights you have under the law that cannot be limited.
Ending use
You can stop using Amin at any time: export your data, delete it from your Drive in the app, and uninstall. Amin may stop being offered in future; if so, your data remains on your devices and in your Drive.
Changes
These terms may change as Amin grows. The new version will be posted on this page with a new date; using Amin after that means you accept it.
